steel structure

We were commissioned to fabricate and install an auditorium for Ternium's headquarters, designed by Caruso e Torricella Architetti. The original concept aimed to create a seamless metal shell with an orange-plastic paint finish. However, the architects really liked the raw metallic appearance they saw during the fabrication process and decided to preserve the industrial aesthetic. This choice effectively captures the industrial essence that defines Ternium and extends it to the entire office space.

Our team re-designed the geometry using parametric analysis to create a volumetric structure that fit each piece together like a 3D puzzle. The auditorium's structure relied on a shell composed of 3/8" steel plates, expertly folded rather than welded, resulting in an origami-like art piece. Internally, the auditorium stood at 4 meters in height with a diameter of 15 meters. Each steel plate was meticulously fabricated and assembled at Kinetica's headquarters before being disassembled for transportation purposes to the site, where our skilled crew members installed it with precision.
